N/R Division Two: Kasalgu Arrow Heads and Northern City record 100% win after match day two

The Northern Regional Football Association Division Two middle league has taken shape after match day two. Kasalgu Arrow Heads and Northern City FC recorded 100% wins after match day two.


Northern City fought tooth and nail to secure a 1-0 victory over Northern Zaytuna Fc. Substitute, Aliyas Abu Wildan’s header on the 67th minute was enough to give Northern City the needed win. The win means that Northern City FC just need a draw in their final match on Sunday against Buipe Scorpions to book a place in the grand finale.


Kasalgu Arrow Heads went pass Savelugu Yoo FC to make it two wins in two matches. Yakubu Abdul Mateen opened the scoring for Kasalgu Arrow Heads on the 36th minute but their joy was cut short when Mohammed Hamdan got the equalizer on the 76th minute for Yoo Fc. Two late penalties for Kasalgu Arrow Heads, both calmly converted by the skipper, Ziblim Firdaus completed the 3-1 scoreline in favor of the sharp arrows.


Dipanticha FC bounced back stronger from their defeat in the hands of Arrow Heads Fc to Buipe Scorpions by 2-0 at the Tamale Utrecht Park on Saturday. The 9th minute strike from Hamadu Galibu opened the scoring for Dipanticha FC which was followed by 34th minute goal from Ibrahim Tajudeen to peg the scoreline at 2-0 in the first half of the match. The second half came with so much pressure from the Scorpions but the resilience of the Gambaga boys ensured the scoreline was protected. The group is still an open one as Buipe and Scorpions and Dipanticha FC are both on 3 points each with one match each to go.


Mole Nationals who lost in match day one against Northern City won 2-0 over Yapei United FC. Abdul Hardi Shaibu’s 7th and 81st minutes goals for Mole Nationals made the group an open group.


Kasalgu Arrow Heads and Northern City FC are in a comfortable places in their respective groups and could meet each other in the grand finale.


The final group matches will be played on Sunday. Below are the final day fixtures:
