1981 year batch of Tamale senior high school have supported their Alma Mater with 3 sets of football jerseys,
2 sets of jerseys for basketball, hockey and volleyball respectively.
2 sets of football each for basketball, volleyball and football as well as 2 captain armbands and 2 Referee whistles.
The support is aimed at curbing the sports equipments deficit facing the school, thereby obstructing the performances of sports students in the school.
The 1981 year group,in making a formal donation of the sports equipments to the school said, they offered the opportunity for the school authorities to make a request on the particular field which needed urgent assistance, before procuring the items.
Spokesperson for the 1981 year group John Emmanuel Ankamah, made this known when he was briefing the media at the presentation ceremony at the forecourt of Tamale senior high school’s administration block.
“We came here and they gave us a list of things they want,so we chose sports. We gave the support to motivate them, sports is an image builder. It brings students together and also unearth their talent.”
Headmaster of Tamasco, Reverend Edward Azeka, receiving the equipments of on behalf of the school, express profound appreciation to all members of 1981 year group for contributing significantly towards the progress of their Juniors, and assured that the equipments will be put to good use.
” On behalf of the students and the school, i would like to thank you for the kind gesture. I am happy that you are still thinking about the Alma Mater. Good will continue to bless you,so that you will continue to do more.”
The student body could not also hide their excitement,and only had words of praise for their seniors.
” On behalf of the student body, i will like to thank the 1981 year group for such a wonderful gift to support the sports field in the school.” Abodazilin Mackdalyn, a female student from Science 2 C echoed in her vote of thanks.
The sports equipment received by the Tamale senior high , will boost the school’s moral in their next inter- school and inter zonal competitions.
