Mubarak Wakaso likely to Captain the Black Stars against South Africa
Black Stars Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is most likely to be given the Captains armband in Ghana’s Afcon qualifiers against South Africa.
Black Stars captain Andrew Ayew is likely to miss the first game against South Africa due to the UK’S covid-19 protocols, which has south Africa as part of it red list, meaning elite athletes travelling to that region will have to be quarantined for 10 days.
Arsenals has already confirmed that deputy captain of the Black Stars Thomas Partey won’t be able to play against South Africa but will only be available when the Ghana host Sao Tome three days after the South Africa game on their return.
Wakaso who has been training with the Black Stars is most likely to Captain them in the absence of the two captains.
He captain them on Tuesday in a friendly match against Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities FC which they emerged victorious with a 3-1 win.
Coach C.K Akunnor is expected to announce his squad tomorrow for the games.
