Mubarak Wakaso donates sets of jersey to Two Football Clubs in Yendi

Ghana Blacks Stars dependable and hard-working Midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso on Sunday, 19th September, 2021 donated two sets of jersey to the male team, Yendi Gbewaa FC and the female side, Yendi Gbewaa Ladies Fc at the forecourt of the Gbewaa Palace.

Founder of Yendi Gbewaa Ladies Fc who doubles as CEO of Bagabaga Ladies, Mohammed Andani Awee made an appeal to Mubarak Wakaso through his trusted friend Mohammed Ahmed Hussein also known as ‘Canna 1’.


The request was granted on Sunday September, 19, 2021. The Shenzhen FC Midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso presented the sets of jersey to the Overlord of the Dagbon, His Royal Majesty, Yaa-Na Abubakari II to be delivered to the two clubs on his behalf.

Handing the jerseys to the leadership of both clubs, Yaa-Na tasked the players to always train hard and learn from the talented midfielder.

“Try and make Yendi and Dagbon proud when you wear these jerseys. Wakaso did his part by donating these jerseys to you. Yours now is to also train very hard to uplift the image of Dagbon and Yendi so that one day I shall watched you play on this my television .” The overlord of Dagbong said

The Midfielder was in Ghana for a short term break and he has supported so many clubs in the Region since he came back from China for Ghana’s WC Qualifying matches against Ethiopia and South Africa.

The clubs after receiving the items thanked the Midfielder for his kind gesture and prayed to Allah the almighty to grant him more successes and also protect him against injuries.

Similar donations were made to the Sports Writers Association of Ghana SWAG, Northern Region Branch, his boyhood clubs, Real Republicans and Great Eagles. He also made donation to Young Meteors in Tamale and was the sole sponsor of the “Wakaso Annual Challenge Cup”.
