Division One League heavyweights, Tamale Steadfast FC run riot over Yendi based Division Two League club Great Amphibians by 10-0 which helped them earn a place at the round of 64.

It was an expected win for Steadfast Fc before kickoff, but no body knew it will be such a heavy defeat. Most of their usual starting lineup were all benched given way for players with less playing time to prove themselves.

It wasn’t long after kickoff that Steadfast FC broke the dreadlock through Vincent on the 13th minute before Mohammed Umar double their lead on the 25 minute to make sure they ended the first half with a two goal advantage.

The second half was a different story as Great Amphibians could not withstand the growing pressure on their defense, which allowed the Division One League gianst to run riot by scoring an additional eight goals to make it 10-0.

That score line is arguably the heaviest defeat Great Amphibians have ever suffered. It was a one sided game with the Yendi club losing possession to their opponents, which makes them look vulnerable and gave Steadfast fc the chance to possess the ball with intensive pressure.

Coach Mohammed Gargo will be happy with his boys performance especially when majority of his starting lineup were on the bench.

The victory has also booked them a place at the round of 64 where they will be joined by the topflight clubs for another draw to be done.

Great Amphibians after this defeat will return home to face Kuga Soccer Professionals in a fan tournament organized in Yendi scheduled to kickstart on the 17th May, 2021 at the Zohe E.P Park.

Steadfast meanwhile will now turn their attention to their match day 21 derby game against Gbewaa FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Saturday.

They won the first round 3-0 against their Northern rivals and will be a tough contest this time round, taking into account the recent form of Gbewaa fc, especially at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium where they beat Berekum Arsenals, B. A. United and also drew 0-0 against Wa Suntaa SC.
