MTN FA Cup Quarter Finals Draw: GPL Champions Phobians set to face Elmina Sharks whiles Kotoko draw Berekum Chelsea:
Confirmed Champions of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League Accra Hearts Of Oak, has been drawn against fellow Premier League side Elmina Sharks in the quarter finals of the MTN FA Cup.
The Phobians are the most successful club in the competition with 10 trophies since it began in 1958, they are being followed closely by arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko with 9 trophies.
Kotoko who recently recorded disappointing results after their 1-0 loss to rivals Accra Hearts Of Oak in the super clash has been drawn against a tough topflight opponent Berekum Chelsea.
Ashanti Gold has been given an easy draw against second division side Kintampo Top Talents, the Kintampo based side has been up and doing with massive performances in the competition, knocking out zone one first division giants Tamale City in the round of 16.
Another topflight side to have gotten an easy draw is two times winners of the competition Medeama SC, they are to face second division side Attram DeVisser Academy.
Medeama SC in both their two successes in the MTN FA Cup, it was Kotoko they beat in 2013 and 2015 that gifted them the coveted trophy.
The teams in this quarter finals will all received ¢6,000 from the organizers.
