Match Report : Kumasi Asante Kotoko opened the 2020/2021 campaign with a 1 – 1 draw against Techman Eleven Wonders in Accra.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko started the 2020/2021 Premier League Season with a draw against Techman Eleven Wonders in Accra. Coach Maxwell Konadu fielded a very strong side which included :

The match started well for Kumasi Asante Kotoko as they dominated play in the first quarter of the match. However, Coach Maxwell Konadu was forced to make an early substitution due to an injury concern when Augustine Okrah was replaced by Evans Adomako on the 32nd minute of the match.

The deadlock was broken on the 55th minute by Kumasi Asante Kotoko through Kwame Opoku. Immediately after the goal was scored, Maxwell Konadu made another substitution by bringing on Emmanuel Sarkodie for Latif Anabila to add more power to his side.

In response to Kotoko’s substitution, the head coach of Techiman Eleven Wonders, Ignatius Osei Fosu also brought on Ashitey Ollenu and Prince Okraku for Clement Boahen and Adu Boahen on the 60th and 71st minutes respectively. The substitution by Eleven Wonders really paid off when they pulled parity through Prince Okraku on the 76th minute. The match ended in a 1 1 draw.

The head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu admitted that the much was a difficult one and that his side didn’t play good football. But he reiterated that they would take clue from the match to improve on their performance in the subsequent matches.

NASCO Man of the Match was Salifu Ibrahim of Techiman Eleven Wonders.
