Manchester City complete treble after Champions league victory over Inter Milan
Manchester City complete treble
Manchester City’s dream to win the Champions League has finally become a reality after their triumph against Inter Milan in Istanbul on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s side won the Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League to emulate Manchester United’s triple trophy haul in 1999 as they became only the second English club to achieve the feat. The 68th minute strike from Rodri settled an attritional final.
Manchester City had to cope with loss of Kevin De Bruyne to injury in the first half.
Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul was full to capacity with both teams fans on top of their voices. At the end, Manchester City fans shouted the most as they joyously celebrated the greatest night – and season – in the club’s history.
Guardiola got his status in the mussium of the great managers as he added a third Champions League to the two he won at Barcelona.
Now Guardiola and his players can take their place in history.
