Labandoo Yakubu scores and provide assist in Steadfast FC 3-0 friendly win over HopIN Academy
In his debut match for Steadfast FC Tamale, Labando Yakubu made quite an impact by not only scoring but also providing an assist, contributing significantly to their 3-0 victory over HopIN Academy in a friendly game on Friday.
One of the most memorable moments of the match was when Yakubu celebrated his goal. After finding the back of the net, he humbly bowed to his coaches as a gesture of gratitude for the trust and opportunity they had bestowed upon him.
Labando Yakubu, a former U-20 attacker, had recently joined Steadfast FC just few weeks ago. This move came after the expiration of his contract with Real Tamale United, a team in the betpawa Premier League.
His journey in Ghana’s Division One League has been quite eventful, with Steadfast FC becoming his third different club in the league. Prior to this, he had played for Yendi Gbewaa FC from 2018 to 2019 and Real Tamale United in 2021.
Yakubu’s skills and decisive goals had not gone unnoticed. He earned a call-up to the Ghana U-20 national team in 2020, thanks to his impressive performances in the NMC organized competition. Moreover, his match-winning goals played a crucial role in Real Tamale United’s return to the Betpawa Premier League during the 2020/2021 DOL season.
As the division one league is set to kick off next month, we all hope that Labando Yakubu can continue to showcase his exceptional form and contribute significantly to Steadfast FC’s success.
