The C.E.O of Kumbungu City Football Club in the Northern Region, Sualihu Shafiu who doubles as the chairman of the Kumbungu Juvenile football clubs Association is very hopeful of an incident free juvenile league when the much anticipated league starts in the Kumbungu district on Saturday, 22nd May, 2021 at the Kumbungu Secondary School Fields.

Juvenile football in Ghana is always organized to unearthed hidden football talents into limelight.

Juvenile football provides mental and physical benefits to kids through physical activity. Such physical benefits include strength, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility. Some mental benefits include boosting self-esteem, problem-solving, and leadership.

GFA President Kurt Okraku speaking during the launch of the juvenile league in Accra last month pointed out that the only way to reviving and reigniting the passion of the game of football in Ghana is to turned our focus to the juvenile football league.

“This project has been long coming, it has been on the cards for over a year and everyone involved is happy to see it start this time,” Okraku said.

“Juvenile football is an essential component of football development which is why we decided to bring this league to help build and shape dreams of children in Ghana.

“Our inability to compete at the junior level was as a result of the lack of commitment to juvenile football and now we have done that so hopefully things will get better for us as a country.

“We have to hit the ground running so the big hits from the league will get the right tuition, logistics so as to achieve their dreams.”

Kumbungu is not left out when it comes to Developing juvenile football in the country, they have so many juvenile clubs and is one of the few district’s in the Northern Region to have so many women Football Clubs.

“Kumbungu has been in the spot light for so long when it comes to juvenile football, and so i expects a positive approach from competing clubs and the their fan base here” Sualihu Shafiw said.

“My target is to one day have a player(s) from Kumbungu playing for the Black Stars and that of the top European clubs”
” I already have some players in my team playing for some top clubs in Accra, including Charity Stars FC” he concluded.

The Kumbungu district Juvenile League is scheduled to commence on Saturday 22nd May, 2021 at the Kumbungu Secondary School Fields.
