Kumbung Walma Youth Ladies FC Clinch 2024 YOPP League Championship

The 2023/2024 YOPP League concluded on Sunday, June 30th, 2024, at Taripkaa in the Savelugu Municipality, with Kumbung Walma Ladies FC securing the championship title. In a decisive final match against Kasuliyili Dahinshelli Queens , Kumbung Walma Youth Ladies triumphed with a 4-0 victory. Mr. Hassan Baba Imoro, representing YOPP, highlighted the program’s objectives, emphasizing its role in using sports to engage and educate women, focusing on reproductive health and career development.

Thirteen communities participated in this year’s edition, following last year’s event in Tolon, the district capital. The event was graced by dignitaries including chiefs, religious leaders, football administrators, and media personnel.

Joshua Cynthia of Taripkaa Youth Ladies was named the championship’s overall best player and top scorer with thirteen goals
