Asante Kotoko players to receive an amount of 30,000 cedis, for the wonderful performance they displayed during Yesterday’s 1:2 defeat to Es Setif of Algeria in the Caf Confederation cup.

The board already agreed to pay the said amount to the players to serve as a motivation to the players before the game.

“We had promised them GH¢ 30,000 to win but even though they couldn’t win, on Monday, we will give it to them,” Kotoko board member Kojo Boateng Genfi confirms.

The team played well on Sunday but lost some clear goal scoring opportunities, which was why they lost to the Algerian giants in the first leg of the final qualification stage of the CAF confederation cup.

Goals from Kwame Opoku had Kotoko broken the deadlock after a 0:0 draw at half time. But an Equalizer by Mohammed due to a defensive error brought the Algerians back into the game, before they wrapped it up with a counter attacking goal.

Kotoko did managed to get a penalty but it was not enough to salvage them as Naby Keita missed the spot kick to give the Algerians a 1:2 advantages going into the second leg.

The Kotoko team will try all possible means to overturn this results when they travel to Algeria, this motivation from the board will make the return fixture a game worthy of a final.

Can Kotoko do the impossible by overturning this results, well that is the question many are asking.Their display on Sunday at the Accra Stadium is enough to make their fans believing in their team doing the magic.
