KPALYOGU/MOHIFONG ELECTORAL AREA WON SAVELUGU PEACE FOOTBALL GALA COMPETITION.
The Savelugu Municipal Football Association in collaboration with Savelugu Municipal Assembly organized Peace Gala matches for the various Electoral areas in Savelugu.
The gala matches were meant to foster peace, unity and love amomg the people in the Savelugu Municipality before, during and after the election.The various Assembly Members served as team managers for their Electoral areas.
The final match was between Kpatuli Electoral Area and kpalyogu/Mohifong Electoral Area on Monday, 19th October, 2020 at Savelugu D/A JHS Park. Eventually, kpalyogu/Mohifong Electoral Area emerged winners of the competition after beating Kpatuli Electoral Area by 1 0. Thanks to Alhassan Yushaw for scoring the only goal of the final match. Bawa Abdul-Rauf of Kpatuli Electoral Area was adjudged the best player of the competition.
Addressing the people in attendance of the closing ceremony of the competition, the Chairman of Savelugu Municipal Football Association, Mr Alhassan Babana thanked everyone who supported them whether in kind or in cash in the course of the competition. He called on the individuals in the Savelugu Municipality to embrace peace at all times.
In attendance of the closing ceremony of the competition were the Police Commander of Savelugu Municipality, Mr E. Ankra, Chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzo, the Northern Regional Football Association’s Juvenile Committee Chairman and ExCo member of the NRFA, Mr Yakubu Alhassan Dawuo, Chiefs and many other dignitaries.
Speaking in the closing ceremony, the Chairman of Northern Regional Football Association, Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzo expressed his delight for seeing such a talent in Savelugu. He encouraged the footballers to continue working hard for a better future in football. Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzo also called on the younger ones in Savelugu, aged 13-16 years to get themselves enrolled on the ‘Catch Them Young Refereeing Program’ so they can develop to become best Referees in the near future. However, the NRFA Chairman supported the competition worth Ghc 400.00.
