Kotoko earmarks Bofoakwa Striker Welbeck Takyi as replacement for Kwame Opoku
Kumasi Asante Kotoko are in the transfer market once again in search of a striker to replace outgoing Striker Kwame Opoku.
The club has been handed a bow as their main goal scorer signed a 4- year deal with Algerian giants USM Algiers worth €300,000.
Kwame Opoku scored seven goals in the league which earned him a call up to the senior national team the Black Stars.
With his departure, Kotoko will be hunting for a like striker who can help them changed their fortunes. It has been rumoured that the club has identified Bofoakwa Tano forward Welbeck Takyi as a perfect replacement for Kwame Opoku.
Welbeck Takyi has scored nine goals and provided three assist so far in Zone One of the division one league.
His exploits earned him a call up to the senior national team, with Ghana playing a double header against South Africa and Sao Tome in their final Afcon qualifiers.
The 20 years old striker had previously played for Berekum Chelsea and B.A United and will be looking forward to playing for one of the best clubs in Ghana and in Africa.
