Juvenile football is the foundation of elite football. The growth of a country’s football depends on the development of the country’s Juvenile football. Juvenile football needs to be structured properly for a better development of young players.
One of the challenges hindering the growth and development of Juvenile football is lack of provision of basic football needs to the Juvenile players. A Juvenile player needs items such as training jerseys, football boots, shin guards, small bag and many more. Most of the kid players lack these items. They look up to their coaches or trainers to provide some of those items to them, and due to financial constraints and the big numbers, the coaches are unable to do so.
Speaking on Radio Tamale sports program, ‘SportsCenter’, the chairman of Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association, Mr Dauda Ibrahim indicated that parents are supposed to provide the basic football needs to their wards to enable them learn and play football to the highest level.
“Parents ought to provide the basic football needs to their children before they bring them to play football. The coaches are doing their best to support the children. The parents must also support the kids in their own ways” The ExCo member of RFA, N/R said.
The Chairman, who is also the CEO of Zaytuna Fc also called on supporters of the various Juvenile clubs to continue supporting the clubs but advised that the supporters should always comport themselves during competitions.
“The supporters are also helping us a lot. They sometimes provide us with transportation during competitions. They should continue to do so but desist from any form of violence during matches”.The astute football administrator added.
Juvenile football is also on hold now due to the COVID 19 pandemic and could resume sooner than later. However, the player registration window opened on 15th August, 2020 and would run for at least one month.
