The head of sports department of Zaa Radio who doubles as the marketing manager of the station lamented the current assault of referees in the game of football. This he says will not help the game in Northern Region and in Ghana at large. The host of ‘Zaa Sports Show’ said this following the assault of Referee Mohammed Kamil on Match Day 9 of the Northern Regional Women’s DOL involving Nasara Ladies Fc and Fc Savanah at the Airforce Park, Bawa Barracks which led the Northern Regional Football Association Executive Council to ban the venue as home venue for Nasara ladies with immediate effect.

Speaking to sportsmrnews.com, Prince Mukadi stated that for a football club to do well in any competition, the club must engage the services of qualified persons with knowledge and expertise to manage the club.

“Let’s stop assaulting referees and learn the game . If a club wants to perform well and go far the club has to get more professionals who know the game and have the experience of the game, but not the ignorant types. Am very very disappointed how we don’t respect referees. Football leaders must begin to do something that will serve as deterrent to
others for assaulting referees. Who ever assaults a referee must be arrested and fined as soon as possible.”

The vocal sports journalist calls on RFA, sports journalists, RAG and Ghana Police Service to come on board to stop what he described as uncivilized act. He said, until referees assault stops in football, football will not get as the needed dividends.
