Black Stars midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso has donated food items such sugar, rice, cartons of milk and boxes of tea to the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Northern Branch to support their fasting in this holy month of Ramadan. The donation was done on Thursday, 29th April, 2021 at Kalandan Park by the representatives of the workerhololic midfielder.
However, it was not only SWAG that benefited from the generosity of Wakaso Mubarak. Tamale Metro Football Association and Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association also benefited from the kind gesture of the powerful left footed midfielder.
The Shenzhen Fc midfielder has never forgotten of his home. He always come to the aid of the people in the football fraternity at right times. Same donation was done in the same month of last year.
Few months ago, Wakaso Mubarak, 30 presented a huge sum of money to Tamale Metro Football Association to organize a competition that is designed to honor him. The competition is dabbled ‘Wakaso Annual Challenge Cup’ which is expected to start once a green light is given for Juvenile Football to commence.
Wakaso Mubarak hails from Tamale and has played for so many clubs in Europe and beyond including Villarreal, Deportivo Alave, Granada, Elche, Las Palmers, Español, Rubin Kazan, Celtic, Panathinaikos, Jiangsu Suning after playing for Ashgold SC in Ghana here. Currently, he plays for Shenzhen Fc in the Chinese Super League.
The midfielder also represented Ghana in four AFCONS and one World Cup. He plays an integral part of the Black Stars recent good performances and is also one of the few players Ghanaians are counting on to bring Ghana’s 35 years trophy drought to an end in the next African Cup of Nations.
The representatives of Tamale Metro Football Association, Sagnarigu Municipal Football Association and SWAG thanked the player for his continuous support to them and prayed for his continuous success in football.
