In-form bottom club Yendi Gbewaa FC To Test Premiership Promotion Chasers Berekum Arsenals In Tamale
It is a bigger test for Yendi Gbewaa FC as they welcome Berekum Arsenals in their match day 18 fixture today at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
Before today’s encounter, Yendi Gbewaa FC has accumulated four points in their last two matches, drawing 0-0 at home to Wa Suntaa SC before recording their first away win of the season against Wamanafo Mighty Royals.
The visiting team meanwhile had a slow start to the second round with a shock away defeat to B A United and recording a 1-1 draw at the Golden City Park against the high flying Steadfast Fc in their last game.
Yendi Gbewaa FC are currently on 15th place with growing believes and motivation from their last game against Mighty Royals that they are going to win today’s tough encounter against Berekum Arsenals.
Berekum Arsenals in their last game against Gbewaa FC recorded a slim 1-0 victory, and it will be tougher than that today as they are visiting them at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium where they have recorded three wins and three draws there.
Ansu Kofi Patrick is currently joint top scorer with Welbeck Takyi of Bofoakwa Tano in the zone with 11 goals, which makes him a threat to the relegation battlers.
Osman Aminu Mohammed is also doing well for Gbewaa FC with 4 goals, together with Kabiru Alhassan who scored their famous match winning goal against Mighty Royals.
The two have contributed so much for the team this season, and it will be tough for the away team should this two players be allowed to dictate the game.
Now that Berekum Arsenals are struggling to get back their fine form, it will be a motivation factor for the home team to play for a win. But the away team, who currently are four points behind leaders Real Tamale United, knows that a further drop in points could dent their hopes of making it back to the Premiership, will play with all their might in this game to go home with all the three maximum points.
Gbewaa FC meanwhile are just one point behind Techiman City and Unity FC, a win or draw in this game could help them move a step above.
It will be a tough contest at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium and we are looking forward to watching it.
