GPL: “I was surprised I wasn’t shortlisted for November Player of the Month” – David Sandan Abagna
David Abagna Sandan is now a household name on the lips of people in the North, due to his eye catching performance week in week out for newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Real Tamale United.
He has already bagged 7 goals, provided 1 assist and won 2 MVP award in just 8 games so far in the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking on Angel FM Sports show via phone call, the midfielder could not hide his dissatisfaction from being snubbed for the November Player of the Month nominees and his inability to gain a national team call up even though his impressive performance in the GPL since 2016 has given him the pass mark.
“I think that, may be l don’t have influential friends in the media space, that’s why I don’t get a lot said about me but I think I deserve more. My statistics from All Stars to Ashgold to RTU are there for all to see”.
“When I was at Ashgold, I had better statistics but when the local Black Stars was called, Yaw Annorl was the one invited. Even himself and my own team mates were surprised. I’ve scored double figures in all the full seasons I had as a midfielder”- David Abagna stated
“I was surprised I wasn’t shortlisted for the Player of the Month of November. I won two MVP. I scored 5 and 1 assist in that month. May be they have to explain the criteria they use. I will just have to keep working hard”- David Abagna on Angel FM
