GPL: Karela United Confident Ahead of Clash with Kotoko
Sey Mubarik, the spokesperson for Karela United, emphasized that they do not fear Asante Kotoko’s reputation as they prepare to face them in a crucial Ghana Premier League match.
Mubarik pointed out that Karela’s previous victory over Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup has bolstered their confidence for the upcoming encounter. He highlighted the team’s belief in their abilities, stating that they have never shown signs of intimidation in previous matches against Kotoko.
While acknowledging Kotoko’s stature in Ghanaian football, Mubarik expressed Karela’s readiness to match them on the field, citing the team’s quality and determination.
Despite Karela United’s recent struggles, including one win, two draws, and two defeats in their last five games, they remain undaunted by Kotoko’s dominance in previous league meetings. Notably, Karela has won only one of their last seven encounters with Kotoko, while Kotoko has emerged victorious in two matches, with four ending in draws.
As Kotoko enters the match on the back of a positive run, including four wins, a draw, and a defeat in their last five GPL games, Karela United aims to secure a crucial victory to improve their chances of avoiding relegation. Meanwhile, a win for Kotoko would propel them to the top of the league standings.
The clash between Karela United and Kotoko is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex.
