David Abagna’s brace could not salvage a point for newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Real Tamale United as they bowed down to Legon Cities FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Both Legon Cities FC and Real Tamale United drew their opening games of the season against Hearts Of Oak and Great Olympics respectively.

Legon Cities started the game on a brighter note and as a result, got the opening goal through Joseph Adjei on the 22nd minute.

Their lead could not stand the test of time, as RTU found the equalizer through Former Wa All Stars talisman, now Legon Cities FC, David Abagna in just seven minutes after his side went behind.

But early second half goals from Nat Akwah and Jonah Attuquaye in the 56th and 75th minutes respectively meant that the capital club cruised to a 3-2 victory, though David Abagna got his second on the afternoon through the spot kick on the 79th minutes, but it wasn’t enough to salvage a point for Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko and his boys.

David Abagna meanwhile will be happy for his brace as he currently leads the ‘Goal King Chart’ with 3 goals to his name.

The win means that Legon Cities have won one and drew one in their opening two games of the season. RTU on the other hand will go back to north to prepare for their next against WAFA at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on match Day 3.
