Ghana Black Satellites win WAFU Zone B Championship

Ghana U-20 side, the Black Satellites, has won the 2020 WAFU U-20 Zone B tournament after beating Burkina Faso by 2-1 in the finals on Saturday.

The tournament was played in Benin with the final match at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto-Novo, Benin.

Burkina Faso team was pressing deep into Ghana’s territory and eventually getting an opening goal on the 18th minute mark from the Left winger Kouame Jean Fiacre Botue.

Ghana created so many chances after the early goal. Just before the first half was about to end, the captain, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh produced a timely equalizer for Ghana.

Getting to the dying minutes of the game, Ghana was awarded a penalty and Precious Boah calmly place the ball at the back of the net.

Ghana’s U-20 was crown the 2020 WAFU Zone B Champions after the 2:1 win against Burkina Faso.

Both countries have qualified for the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
