GFA issues strong statement denouncing recent acts of violence observed at various match venues in Matchday 6

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued a strong statement denouncing the recent acts of violence and misconduct observed at various match venues during Betpawa Premier League’s Matchday 6. The GFA, through its official website, has assured the public that strict actions will be taken against those responsible, in accordance with the GFA Disciplinary Code and relevant Competition Regulations.
The statement from the GFA reads as follows:
“In light of the regrettable incidents of violence and misconduct witnessed at several match venues during Matchday 6 of the Premier League, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) unequivocally condemns these actions. After a thorough review of match reports from all venues, we want to assure the sporting community that appropriate GFA organs will take resolute action against the wrongdoers, strictly adhering to the GFA Disciplinary Code and the relevant Competition Regulations.
We emphasize that the disciplinary measures and sanctions will be rigorously enforced. Clubs, team officials, and supporters are reminded of their responsibilities to uphold standards of respect, fair play, and tolerance before, during, and after all football matches. It is imperative that all stakeholders, including club supporters, be educated about the provisions of the Disciplinary Code and the consequences their misconduct may have on their respective clubs.
Supporters should also be aware that there are official channels for addressing their concerns, which should be pursued through their club’s management. We commend the professionalism, protection, and patience exhibited by the security services during these incidents, and we pledge our cooperation in ensuring the arrest of individuals who violate national laws at games, subsequently subjecting them to the criminal justice system.”
