Gbewaa Palace: Real Tamale United Present Trophy to H.R.M Yaa-Na Abukari II

Ghana Division One Zone One League Champions, Real Tamale United on Saturday 21st August, 2021 Presented the DOL Zone One trophy to the Overlord of Dagbon His Royal Majesty Yaa-Na Abukari II at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.

 

 

In a short ceremony, the leadership of R.T.U led by its Secretary Alhaji George handed the trophy to the Yaa-Na for his blessings as they set foot to participate in the Ghana Premier League in October.

 

 

Real Tamale United make a return to the Ghanaian topflight after 8- years of absence. The club was relegated in 2013 and has always struggled to make a return to the Premiership until this time.

The Member of Parliament for the Yendi Municipality, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama was also present to grace the occasion and made a promise to support the club with sets of jerseys, footballs and a cash amount of ¢5,000.00 come Monday.

The Yaa-Na commended the management, players and supporters of R.T.U for the skills and great team work exhibited in the just ended Division One League.

His Royal Majesty Ndan Yaa-Na Abukari II could not hide his joy for the triumph “It is always refreshing to see a gallant child returns home from battle with mission fully accomplished and very determined to fight more battles” Ya- Na stated.

He tasked the leadership of the club not to interfere in the work of the Coach and the technical team in relation to player selection. He also admonished them to focus on the progress of the club than their individual interest.

His Royal Majesty Yaa-Na Abukari II concluded by calling for unity among leadership and the playing body, as this could be a stepping stone to more victories.

The Yaa-Na donated a ram and some assorted foodstuffs and a cash amount to the team as custom demands.

The club Secretary, Alhaji George expressed their gratitude to the Ya-Na for his kind gesture and promised to always call on him for more of his blessings.
