GAA and World Athletics Organizes Workshop for Coaches in the Savannah Region
The Ghana Athletics Association in collaboration with World Athletics has organized a Preliminary and Preparatory Coaching Course for Coaches in the Savannah Region
The program which took place at the Eco Club House in Damongo, started from Monday, 14th to Friday 18th December, 2020
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), Mr. Bawa Fusheini said, the five day program is aimed at equipping participants with the technical capacity to organise and coach athletics very well in the region
He revealed that, similar workshops will be organise in the five other new regions
Interacting with the media after the workshop, one of the participants, Miss Faiza Jakpa expressed her delight about the program and the benefit it will bring to the savannah region
Miss Faiza has pleaded with the national association to organize more of such programs in the region
Speaking on behalf the GAA President Prof. Francis Dodoo, Treasurer of the association, and also a facilitators at the training, Mr Christopher Darko-Amankrah in his closing remarks expressed the association’s delight in the level of interest and participation in the program
He urged participants to put the knowledge learnt into good use, and promised the association’s willingness to organise more refresher courses in the region
In all thirty (30) participants were trained during program
An examination was conducted at the end and participants who will excel shall be part of a Level 1 training course in Accra in November, 2021
