EPL : Benrahma fails West Ham medical placing £25m transfer from Brentford in jeopardy
West Ham have been rocked by the news that Said Benrahma has failed his medical – placing his £25million move back in jeopardy.
The setback is the latest body blow in a protracted series of events surrounding the Hammers’ pursuit of Brentford’s Algerian winger.
The Irons are understood to have learned the news early on Friday morning and have been working to find a way to keep the deal alive.
A Brentford source told Mirror Sport: “Nothing has been done yet. Conversations are ongoing.”
The Hammers had been pushing ahead with the transfer following a fall-out between the player and his Championship club, believed to be financial.
That was resolved on his return from international duty on Wednesday, leading to a rearranged medical on Thursday. But the deal now looks to be off unless a solution can be found by 5pm.
