DTL : Yendi Sankara Nationals Qualify For The 2022 NR Division Two Sub-Middle League.

Following their 0-0 away draw against Beyom Soccer Ambassadors FC at the Gushegu Town Park, Sankara Nationals became the first club in Zone 7 to qualify to the Sub-middle league stage in the ongoing
Northern Regional Football Associations Division 2 League.
The Yendi based club never fallen short of reaching the Sub-middle league since it’s formation in 2015, and has established themselves as one of the bigger forces when it comes to division 2 league football in the northern region.
They have played 17 games so far and have won 11, draw 5 and lost only once to their arch rivals Yendi Soccer Heroes FC by 2-1. They have accumulated 38 points from the 17 games played which has taken them to the summit of the league table. They have scored 36 times and conceded 11 goals.
Only few clubs in the region can assembled the crop of players they currently have now. Owing to the fact that they couldn’t qualify for the division one league last season despite making it to the Middle league, they brought in some few additions this season to beef up their squad in other to boost their chances of gaining promotion to the DOL. Notable of the new faces added are Wahab Marwanu from Bole Super Stars, Fusheini Abdul Fatawu from Bimbilla New Era and Yakubu Faisal.

They have gathered so many young talented and exuberant players, the likes of Abdul Latif Adam who happens to be the top scorer at the club with 9 goals and 6 assist has been a revelation for the team. He has gone through the ranks of U-13, U-15 in the Inter-districts football competitions and has never disappointed since joining the club few years ago.
Hardi Tofik is another consistent player this season, all those who witnessed him play last season questioned why he is still playing division two league football, a pure talent, he never failed to wow fans whenever he is playing, the home fan’s has gifted him a local nickname ” Ball Sonya” meaning football wizard. He scored 5 goals and provided 5 assist so far.
With still 3 remaining matches to play in the Zone, they could go on to recording the highest points among all the clubs in the region.
The club’s CEO, Stephen Kojo has acquired a new bus for them, which they have been using for their away matches.
The club’s hierarchy are of the believe the 2022 season is their’s and for that reason, player motivation has never been down ever since the season kick-started some 3 months ago.
