Techiman City has written to the Ghana Football Association that they will be unable to honour their match day 16 game against Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium or at the Wa Sports Stadium.

The GFA on Thursday directed the Techiman based club to play their first game of the second round fixture against Real Tamale United at the Wa Sports Stadium on Sunday, but the club has written that they are not financially strong to play the game in either Tamale or Wa.

The statement reads:

TECHIMAN CITY FOOTBALL CLUB CANNOT HONOUR OUR HOME MATCH AGAINST REAL TAMALE UNITED

Techiman City Football Club sends its compliments and acknowledges receipt of your letters dated 13th April, 2021 at 3:33pm, 3:41pm and Wednesday 14th April 2021 at 11:12am asking us to play our home game against Real Tamale United at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman, Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale and Wa Sports Stadium respectively.

We are at a lost since we have not officially been served by the GFA stating why our home game against Real Tamale United must be played at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale, Wa Sports Stadium in Wa or any other venue than the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

In our last meeting with the President of the Ghana Football Association on his tour in the Bono, Ahafo and Bono East, we explained to him the predicament of our dear club Techiman City Football Club financially and why we have not been officially written to why we have to play our game against Real Tamale United on a neutral venue.
We are by this letter informing the GFA we cannot honour the said game in Tamale or Wa because,

1.We have not been officially served with reasons why we have to play RTU in Tamale or Wa

2. Techiman City Football Club is financially not strong to travel to Wa or Tamale especially when our next game will be against Paga Crocodiles in Paga.
We hope the GFA will have a second look at the communications and revert back to Techtman City Football Club in the interest of FAIR PLAY
