DOL : Wa Sports Stadium To Host Techiman City VS Real Tamale United Match Day 16 Fixture.
The Ghana Football Association has directed that the match between techiman city and real tamale united will now be played at the wa sports stadium.
This decision became necessary after fans disturbances at the ohene ameyaw park against the covid-19 protocols set out by the GFA.
The ohene ameyaw park has been a center of players and referees assault by supporters of techiman city, their games against tamale steadfast fc and tamale city has witnessed supporters trying to verbally or physically assault match referees and players.Their last game against tamale city ended in the first half as the officials couldn’t continue the match as fans were seen threatening them.
This led to the GFA placing an indefinite suspension on the ohene ameyaw park.
The GFA rules has still not changed, as supporters are still not allowed to go into the match venues to watch their teams play.
The game was earlier purported to be played at the aliu mahama sports stadium in tamale but in a new directive, it has been moved to the wa sports stadium after further stake holder consultations.
Real tamale united are currently sitting 3rd on the league standings with 30 points while techiman city are lying 12th with 16 points.
The first leg between the two clubs ended in a 1-1 draw.
The game has been scheduled per the new directive to kickoff at 3:00pm at the wa sports stadium on sunday 18th april,2021
