A new day for Steadfast Fc as they now occupies top of the zone one league table due to a 2-0 defeat suffered by city rivals Tamale City FC in the hands of B.A. United.
After match day 10 Tamale City were occupying the second place on the league standings, as rivals Real Tamale United occupied the first position with their superior goal advantage.
Hamza Mohammed men were to climb to first with a win over struggling B.A. United who before the game was occupying 7th place. But a two goal defeat had them dropped back to third place with Berekum Arsenals, Bofoakwa Tano and Mighty royals all with a chance to move ahead of them should they win their respective matches today.
Coach Hamza Mohammed side was yet to lose a game since their 1-0 victory over their City rivals Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
Their form was seen as a chance to qualify for the Premiership this year as they were able to not record a defeat against many of the top six teams in the league.
But their defeat yesterday has changed the story, you must be consistent in order to qualify. There is no excuse for their defeat, why must you play a 1-1 draw against Berekum Arsenals and then losing 2-0 to B.A. United but that is football for you.
The team must be total alert on such unforseen circumstances, it was an expected win for the away team, but the home side defied all the odds and pull out victorious after the final whistle.
Coach Hamza must worked out the negatives and put in a winning and consistent mentality in his boys, they will have no excuse to give should they failled to qualify this year.
Their last two seasons was adversely affected by the Anass No.12 and the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Steadfast are currently doing well in the league because, they are scoring more goals and conceding less, which has helped them much to be where they are now.
Coach Hamza must look into his defense as his team has always been conceding goals even if they win. It is something that is showing their weaknesses to their opponents and he must work it out.
Before their comeback against Wa Suntaa SC they had already conceded two goals in the first half, their next game was against Mighty Royals and they conceded another two.
It is the teams weakness and the coach should be able to identify it by now.
