DOL: Steadfast FC Ends Winless Streak with 2-1 Triumph Over Bofoakwa Tano
Division One League side, Steadfast FC have struggled in their opening three matches after recording two defeats and one draw in the first three matches.
Coach Mohammed Gargo’s side lost 3-0 in the opening match against Young Apostles and drew 1-1 with Nkoranza Worriors in Tamale. They lost 2-1 in the third match of the season against newly promoted side Baffour Soccer Academy.
The Gangdu Boys were on a poor run having just picked one point from their first three games of the new campaign.
Last year’s tittle contenders, Steadfast FC went into match day four against Bofoakwa Tano with new energy. Two new signings, Kwame Frimpong and Seidu Toufiq were both brought in.
The visitors, Bofoakwa Tano opened the score on the 44th minute of the first half which was immediately cancelled by Abu Abdallah two minutes into the added time of the first half.
Coach Gargo’s men controlled the game in the second half pushing so hard for a winner. Their efforts payed off when striker Abubakar Abdul Shakun headed in from a superb cross from Bawa Suad to the make the scoreline 2-1 for the home side on the 51 minute mark.
This is a welcome reversal of the fortune for coach Gargo Mohammed, who had overseen one draw and two defeats in the start of the season.
