DOL: Steadfast FC and Tamale City Fc both with the chance to climb top on Saturday
With Real Tamale United playing on Sunday away against Bofoakwa Tano, there could be new leaders of the table on Saturday with their City rivals Tamale City and Steadfast all playing their match day 11 fixtures on Saturday.
Match day 10 was a success for all the three Tamale based division one clubs as they all won their respective matches which saw them occupying the first three spots on the league standings.
Steadfast won 0-1 away against Nkoranza worriors, Tamale City also fought hard to win 2-1 at home against Bofoakwa Tano, and Real Tamale United rapping it up with a 3-0 win against Berekum Arsenals at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
Real Tamale United currently leads the league standings on goal difference, and their closed rivals Tamale City and Steadfast will have a chance to overtake them should they win their games tomorrow.
Steadfast has been in a heated form lately, and with a game against Young Apostles, it is going to be a big test for Coach Mohammed Gargo’s men. The away team currently seats 7th on the league table with only three points separating them from Steadfast.
As for Steadfast they have been in real form lately, and even with the absence of Ghana U-20 Star Abdul Fataw Issahaku they have managed to record wins in their games which has helped them to occupied third on the league standings.
Alhassan Siisu has been in a sensational form, and the young forward has already scored seven goals in the league with only Welbeck Takyi of Bofoakwa Tano matching that feat. He is poised to cause Young Apostles some real problems, the last time Steadfast played at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium he bagged a hat trick and was awarded the MVP award.
A win for Coach Gargo’s men will helped them to temporarily moved top of the league table depending on the Tamale City game.
Tamale City also will have the chance to lead the table should they record a win against B. A. United tomorrow at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
Hamza Mohammed men has yet to taste a defeat since their 1-0 win against City rivals RTU on match day 5. They have managed to avoid defeat against most of the top teams contending for the Premiership slot. The played a 1-1 draw at the Golden City Park against Berekum Arsenals on match day 9, they also recently beat Bofoakwa Tano 2-1 at home on match day 10 which saw them climb to second place on the standings.
There are seven points separating them from their opponents tomorrow, and they will hope to beat B.A. United to take control of the table.
Hamza Mohammed last visit to B.A was a 1-1 draw against Berekum Arsenals and they will hope to beat B.A United to boost their chances of qualifying to the Premier League.
