DOL: RTU Files Protest Against Victory Club Warriors Over Inadequate Security Provision.

The management of Real Tamale United (RTU) has lodged a formal protest against Victory Club Warriors for failing to provide adequate security during their league encounter at Wenchi on Monday, 7th April 2025.
In a letter addressed to the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo Esq., RTU expressed deep concern over the security arrangements at the match venue.
According to the letter, at the time of kickoff, Victory Club Warriors had only deployed three fire service personnel and one police officer, falling significantly short of the security commitments made during the pre-match meeting.
RTU in a press release stated that, the home side, Victory Club Warriors assured them that they would provide 10 uniformed police officers, 10 plainclothes CID officers and 10 community police personnel.
RTU described the situation as deeply troubling, noting that it posed serious safety risks to their players, officials, and traveling supporters. The club emphasized that such lapses are in violation of the enhanced security protocols introduced by the GFA and undermine the credibility and integrity of the match.
Due to the inadequate security arrangements, the match experienced a significant delay, kicking off at approximately 4:33 PM instead of the scheduled 3:00 PM start, further compounding the safety concerns.
Real Tamale United has made it clear that they played the match under protest and will not hesitate to escalate the matter to ensure that the safety and security of all stakeholders are upheld moving forward.
The match ended in a goalless draw.
