Samuel Bawa, 24 who plays for Real Tamale United as a Center Back was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the DOL match, RTU Vrs Nkorunza Worriors that was played at Aliu Mahama Stadium on Sunday, 24th January, 2021. The center back was seen by the officials of the match to be the player who stood tall among the players on the pitch in terms of performance in the match. His excellence performance at the heart of defense denied the opponents, Nkorunza Worriors from making good use of the glamorous chances they created in the match.

Samuel is best known for his ability to deal with aerial balls with much ease. In the match against Nkorunza Worriors, Samuel Bawa dealt so well with the attacking players of Nkorunza Worriors forcing them to switch players upfront countless times but still could not find their way to cause any havoc to the home side, RTU.

The former player of Techiman City has been the fans favorite since his arrival in 2019. The tall lanky center back is tipped to be the next top defender for RTU and for the Ghana national teams. Bawa is superb as well when it comes to One V One situations against attacking players because of his accurate timely interceptions to stop the opponents from scoring. Fans never get tired of chanting his name during matches and always associate RTU’s clean sheets to him rather the goalkeepers.

The Young Chap’s versatility makes him a utility player. He can play at all the positions in the back four and can also play as a defensive midfielder. The Young Player is one of the few players to watch out for in the Zone One of this year’s Division One League.

His club, RTU won the two matches they played so far in the league and hoping to win the third match against Young Apostles on Sunday 31st January, 2021 in Sunyani.
