DOL Match Report: Yendi Gbewaa Fc 0:1 Bofoakwa Tano FC

The National Division One league match day 4 between Yendi Gbewaa and Bofoakwa Tano from Brong Ahafo Region started with both teams pushing for an early goal.

The match was played at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, Tamale on Saturday, 30th January 2021.

The first chance in the came on the 3rd minute when Ibrahim Lukman of Yendi Gbewaa was brought down, 19 yards away from the goal line. The free kick was taken but the ball went above the goal post for a goal kick.

On the 7th minute mark, Another brilliant chance came when Mohammed Zakaria Shamsu Deen broke through the two central defenders of Bofoakwa Tano to score but the goal was disallowed for offside.

The Visitors came close on the 10th when Mohammed Fuseini gave Yendi Gbewaa Fc defenders a tough time forcing the goalkeeper, Mutawakil Abubakari to pull some dangerous saves.

The two teams made several attempts for goals but none of them materialized .

Wilberk Takyi of Bofoakwa got a chance, 25 metres from the goal line but fired off the post.

The first half ended in a 0:0 draw.

Bofoakwa Tano came into the second half with much force getting a goal through the blessed legs of Wilberk Takyi on the 46th minute.

Yendi Gbewaa came strong, pushing hard for an equalizer. Coach Mohammed Nurudeen Shamuna made two substitutions at a go, bringing in Fusheini Salifu and Leonardo Akuetteh to sharpen the attack.

A very brilliant free kick from Leonardo Akuetteh of Gbewaa Fc on the 70th minute when Fusheini Salifu was brought down close to the 18 yard box.

On the 75th minutes mark, Abdul Latif Sulemana was brought down in the penalty box. Leonardo Akuetteh failed to convert the spot kick for Gbewaa. Goalkeeper, Afaro Rufai of Bofoakwa produced a fine save denying what could have been an equalizer for Gbewaa Fc.

Bofoakwa Tano Head coach implemented all his defensive tactics to secure the maximum three points away in Tamale.

Abdul Latif Sulemana was adjudged NASCO MVP of the match.

The match ended 1:0 in favor of the visitors Bofoakwa Tano.
