DOL MATCH REPORT, REAL TAMALE UNITED LOST TO TAMALE CITY IN TAMALE
Derby matches have always come with their own excitements with fans anxiously waiting for the showdowns.
The Tamale derby match started with both teams, RTU and Tamale City being more tactical and careful going forward. The first five minutes saw the ball in the midfield possessed by Tamale City but they never committed more men upfront.
Goal: A goal from no where came on the 9th minute when Ortis Sam calmly converted a superb pass from Kwame Frimpong who started the build up to the goal from the center circle.
The midfield of Tamale City led by the captain, Collins Amoah Boateng controlled the game and kept passing the ball among themselves. RTU at that point lost their balance which compelled the head coach, Ibrahim Tanko to be on his feet without sitting.
On the 17th minute, captain of the RTU, Mohammed Hardi Abdulai failed to tap in what would have been the equalizer. It was such a glamorous chance!
On the 25th minute of play, there was a penalty call by RTU when there was a collision of players in the penalty area of Tamale City but the decision of the center referee rather went the opposite.
Tamale City’s goalkeeper, Prosper Gbeku made some fine saves in the first half to keep his team still in the lead.
A purportted miscommunication between goalkeeper, Proper Gbeku and his two center backs, Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen and Kofi Kketia nearly cost Tamale City on the 38th minute but the Swift intervention of Abdul Gafaru saved the situation.
The first half ended 1:0 in favour of Tamale City.
Real Tamale United came into the second half with a push to equalize which made them commit more men upfront. They pushed so deep creating numerous chances o ly to be saved by goalkeeper Prosper Gbeku of Tamale city.
RTU came close to scoring on the 55th minute when Fauzan Alhassan Dandawa pulled a fast one at goal which went pass the goal post. Both teams made quick substitutions to strengthen their teams.
Baba Kushibo of RTU fired a thunder shot which goalkeeper Prosper Gbeku had to put up a fantastic save to deny RTU the equalizer.
The match got tensed getting intodying minutes of the game. Center referee Ayaaba and two line men Fauzan Mikail and Alhassan being pressured for some decisions.
The final score is Real Tamale United 0:1 Tamale City.
