DOL: Ghana’s Vice President Dr Bawumia heaps praise on Real Tamale United

The second gentle man of the land has shown no signs of hiden his admiration for Real Tamale United as he took to his Facebook page to heap praise on his beloved club.

Real Tamale United yesterday overcome fellow premier league promotion battlers Bofoakwa Tano with a slim 1-0 victory.

Going into the game,the Sunyani based club was first in the league standings with 52 points, with RTU following them closely with 50 points.

It was a game the northern blues was supposed to win or forget their dream of returning to the Premiership after almost eight years of absence.

 

Mustapha’s early first half goal was enough to hand RTU the most vital win ever, the win then took them to first place with 53 points, with only four matches to go.

 

Dr. Bawumia who is a known supporter of the club, could not hide his feelings as he praised them on his Facebook page for reaching that feat.

 

The Veep wrote ” Lest we forget, My Real Tamale United ( RTU) won this weekend and leads zone 1 league table”
He then continued to add complements to the club by describing them as the “Best Club In Ghana”.

 

As a known figure in the clubs hiarachy, he has been offering financial support to the club. Just last two months the Veep donated an amount of ¢100, 000 to the club and promised to help them more should they qualify to the Premiership.

 

Scores of football fans who commented on the Vice President’s post, praised him for promoting the local leagues and charged other politicians and influential people to do same.

 

It was his third time of donating same amount to the club.

With only four games to end the season, RTU are destined to make a return to the Ghanaian topflight. Their last four games will be a trip to play B. A United and three home games against Tamale Steadfast Fc, Yendi Gbewaa FC and Unity FC.

 

Should they managed to win all four of their remaining matches, zone one will be painted and decorated with blue colors as the pride of the north will graced the Ghana Premier League once again after being relegated from the topflight in 2013.
