DOL: All home teams in Zone One of the Division One League won on match day 8
Match day 8 of the division one league Zone one did not produced a single team winning their away game.
It all started on Friday at the Nana Ameyaw Park where Techiman City played as host to Tamale Steadfast FC who before the game was occupying 4th position on the league table. They were beaten by 1-0 which was the start of the misery for teams traveling away on match day 8.
For them they are bitting their fingers for missing their striker Abdul Fataw Issahaku, who currently is with the U-20 national team. He has since scored two incredible goals so far.
The next home win was recorded on Saturday when RTU won 2-1 against Wa Suntaa SC at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium in Tamale. The win moved the pride of the north to second place trailing Berekum Arsenals by goal difference. Early first Half goals from Captain Mohammed Nawas and Dandawa secured Coach Shaibu Tanko’s team all the three points.
The next away defeat was played early on Saturday afternoon when Nsoatreman FC defeated Paga Crocodiles Stars by 1-0 at the Twumasi Sports Complex.
The home wins continued to Sunday when Tamale City FC won 3-2 against a resilient Mighty Royals. Two goals from Issac Mensah and a goal from Sam Oti helped Coach Hamza Mohammed side to win the game at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium. They are now placed 4th on the table with just a point separating them from joint table leaders B. Arsenals and RTU.
Berekum Arsenals also tasted defeat in the hands of Young Apostles to end their unbeaten run in the league, it was at the Sunyani Coronation Park. A goal from Solomon Adomako helped the home side to also add up to the list of home wins on match day 8. The defeat matched them in points with Real Tamale United.
Another home win was at Nkoranza children park where Nkoranza worriors beat Bofoakwa Tano by 1-0, Welbeck Takyi couldn’t who has been in form since the start of the league couldn’t come to his teams aid. He was given a call up to the Black Stars after his brighter start. Derrick Gyamfi goal was enough to hand the worriors a famous win.
The defeat sent Bofoakwa Tano to third place on the table, they are one point behind joint leaders Berekum Arsenals and Real Tamale United.
Kintampo FC also won at home against B. A United at the Kintampo Rawlings Park. It was their first win since the start of the season.
The last home team to win at home was Unity FC, they were at home against Yendi Gbewaa FC who are also currently struggling in the league.
They scored on the 90th minute to secure them the win at the Wamanafo Community Park.
Match day 8 results shows how strong teams are at home, after all the 8 away teams failed to get a point.
Next is mid-week, could it be Gbewaa FC turn to also get a first win in the league this season against Tachiman City at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium.
