DOL 2021/2022: Tamale City run riots over Berekum Arsenals in a 4 nill victor

A game headlining match week 1 of the Division One League in Zone 1, with former Ghana Premier League side Berekum Arsenals traveling all the way to Tamale to take on the “Citizens of Tamale” Tamale City FC, there was much anticipation from the football fraternity as to what the outcome of the game will be.

The two sides met twice last season in the DOL with the Agye Se Tuo boys from Berekum being the better side, as they managed to record a 1-0 victory over the Citizens at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium after both sides battle for a 1-1 draw in the first encounter at the Berekum Golden City Park.

It was now time for the Citizens to make amends and take revenge over Arsenals. They had a good start to the game, and it only took them 18 minutes to find the opener through Mohammed Yahaya thunderbolt strike.

Arsenals wasn’t in their best in the game and it only took luck for them not to have conceded additional goals after Mohammed’s opener during the first department of the game.

After they returned from the break, both sides tried creating scoring chances but it was Tamale City who doubled their lead through Bismarck Asare.

Substitute Kojo Aggrey then added more pepper to Arsenals wounds to send the game beyond their reach after hitting a brace to make it 4-0 for Coach Hamza Mohammed’s men.

A perfect start for the Citizens and a disappointing trip for Berekum Arsenals.
It’s still early for us to make hasty conclusions but Arsenals would have to make unimaginable improvement if they really want to make it to the Premiership.

For Tamale City, a perfect start means the Premiership dream is far from over and it’s that mischievous fortune faith in them, that has their spirits rising higher and higher
