Division One Football : Meet Bofoakwa Tano’s Rising Star, Issah Nyabilla, the Rocky Hunter.
Football is a well known game in the world and most loved game in Ghana. It’s impact on the society is immeasurable in this modern era, ranging from entertainment to the economic impact.
Playing professional football has always been the dream of many young footballers in Ghana, but one thing that normally stands on their way is the needed exposure. There are so many talented footballers scattered throughout the country, of which majority of them don’t get the opportunity to show their prowess.
Issah Nyabilla is one of the talented boys who can make it to the highest level of professional football when given the necessary attention and support.
The young chap recently moved from his home town, Bolgatanga to join Bofoakwa Tano in search for an opportunity to show his talent to the world. He plays as a central defender.
Playing as a central defender is never an easy job in this modern football considering the availability of skillful and energetic attackers in the system. For this reason, only few of the younger generation succeed to become good defenders.
Issah Nyabilla has an expertise knowledge in defending with all the attributes of a good defender. He is good at stopping opponent attackers from making good use of counter attacks because of his ability to make timely interceptions and good clearance of the ball from dangerous places. Nyabila also possess self confidence. He is able to lay off simple and creative passes to his team mates even in his own penalty area and that helps his team to most at times keep ball possession.
Nyabilla can be a good national asset when opportunity comes his way. He is the kind of defenders that many clubs would love to have in their set ups. He is an expert in winning aerial duels using his structure to his advantage.
He is the rock of Bofoakwa Tano defense having established himself as one of the undisputable players in the starting lineups of the club. He has always been a threat to opposing attackers, for which reason he is been called by football lovers in his home town as “The Rock of Bolgatanga”.
For the good performance of the young chap, he was adjuged the MVP in their 2-0 victory over Tamale Steadfast Fc. Nyabila has become fans favourite of Bofoakwa Tano for his consistent good performances at the heart of defense of the club. He is nick named by the fans as “the Rocky Hunter”.
It is not common for defenders, specifically central defenders to survive the Referees bookings but for Nyabila, his experience and calm defending has helped him to always avoid bookings.
It won’t be surprising to see him receive a call up to Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s Black Stars B team for the CHAN Tournament and subsequently play for the senior national team, the Black Stars .
Through his hard work and good connection with his team mates, Bofoakwa Tano currently occupies third position on the league standings of the ongoing division one league.
