CAF CONFIDERATIONS CUP: ASANTE KOTOKO GAME AGAINST ES SETIF IN DOUBT OVER TRAVELING ISSUES
The game involving Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Algerian giants Es Setif is in limbo as the Ghanaian giant’s are still in the country over traveling challenges.
Reports from Kumasi have it that Kotoko are having a challenge in raising money for the trip to Algeria, which leaves them with no option than to forfeit the game.
Due to the Covid-19 test rules by CAF, Kotoko are expected to be in Algeria latest today to have a test 24 hours before the match.
Should they failed to make it to Algeria, the club could be fined by CAF. Kotoko since 2018 has not made it to the group stages of the competition, the last time it was done was when current Black Stars Coach C.K Akunnor was in charge at the club in 2018.
Kotoko are expected to overturn a 1:2 home defeat to the Algerian giants in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Club is lead currently by Abdulai Gazale who lost his first game in charge as a substantive manager of the club.
Coach Gazale will be looking forward to winning this game when they make their trip the North Africa today.
The game is scheduled to be played on 21st February, 2021.
