Breaking News: Yakubu Labandow”Computer” fires Real Tamale United back to the Ghana Premier League
Former Yendi Gbewaa forward Yakubu Labandow popularly called’Computer’ has earned himself a place in the history books of Real Tamale United after scoring two goals to send the Pride of the north back to the Ghana Premiership .
He scored the first goal for RTU in their season opener against Kintampo FC which sealed them an opening victory, and he was at it again at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium against Unity FC, RTU needed a win to boost their chances of qualifying with the hope that Berekum Arsenals will hold Bofoakwa Tano to a draw.
Labandow’s late first half brace was enough to hand his side the needed results, Berekum Arsenals also hold Bofoakwa Tano to a 0-0 draw at the Berekum Golden City Park, meaning Real Tamale United are back to the Premiership via a superior head to head record.
RTU got relegated to the first division in 2013, and are now back to the Premiership after 8 years of absence.
The Northern Region actually cried for a Premiership slot, and here it is now at their door steps through a brace from a man from the traditional capital of Dagbon (Yendi).
What a day it is for Dagbon, Tamale and the entire Northern Region.
Yakubu Labandow’s name would forever be remembered and written down in the history books of RTU.
