Breaking News: RTU supporters take custody of team’s training equipments for non performance
Some supporters of Real Tamale United (RTU) have taken custody of all the training equipments from the team from the teams training grounds on Monday.
The agitated supporters are derived from a number of supporters channel in the region including Channel 15, Kurgu Zugu and others with the aim of bringing the team back to it’s normal form.
The incident took place in the early hours on Monday at the team training grounds at Utrecht Park in Kasalgu.
The items confiscated includes football, markers, bibs, and all other items sited at the training grounds.
The supporters cite a number of reasons for their action. Key among them is the lack of transparency and accountability in relations to gate proceeds and funds given to the management by the life Patron and the board. They also cite non performance of the team which can lead the club back to relegation.
According to the supporters, they want the management out by the close of work today. They indicated that, they want the CEO, the Club Secretary and the Media Officer out of the team.
sportsmrnews.com can confirm that the items have been sent to Alhaji Savannah’s house for safe keeping and to inform the board of their action and reasons they took the action.
Our sources indicates that the supporters have also taken the opportunity to visit the Old Board members including Alhaji Admond, Alhaji Alolo and Alhaji Savannah to inform them about the current happenings in the team.
The supporters again visited the Regional coordinating council to meet the Regional Minister (Life Patron) to call on him to intervene in order to salvage Real Tamale United from am impending relegation.
RTU lost 1-0 away to Techiman Eleven Wonderers, draw against Karela United, lost 2-0 away to King Faisal and ended the first round with a 1-1 draw against Hearts of Oak. The team began the second with a 2-1 defeat to Accra Great Olympics and returning to draw 1-1 against Legon Cities at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale. This makes it six (6) matches without a win for RTU.
Real Tamale United will play the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) at the Sogakokpe park in the Volta Region this weekend.
