The Tamale base Women’s Division One League club Nasara Ladies FC has suspended the club Assistant Coach Alhassan Abdulai Fonbia for physically assaulting the center referee Mohammad Kamil during their match day 9 game against FC Savannah at the Air Force Base Park on Sunday 8th July, 2021.
A letter signed by the Chief Executive Officer Mr Mahama Issahaku indicated that the suspension is with immediate effects.
The letter read:

The suspension takes immediate effect from 9/08/2021 till the end of the football season.

you are by this letter admonish to comply by this letter until further notice.
Muhammad Issahaku Chief Executive Officer Nasara Ladies FC
This suspension followed a video that went viral on Monday the 9th of July, 2021 showing how the “muscled” Assistant coach was seriously punching the centre referee Mohammad Kamil. In the video, the players of both teams are seen trying so hard to stop the assistant coach but to no avail.
This is a clear violation of Ghana Football Association regulation on assault of referees.
Earlier today the Northern Regional Football Association Executive Council has banned the team from using the Air Force Base Park as thier home venue. The assault case has since been forwarded to the Disciplinary Committee for appropriate sanctions.
