This suspension followed a video that went viral on Monday the 9th of July, 2021 showing how the “muscled” Assistant coach was seriously punching the centre referee Mohammad Kamil. In the video, the players of both teams are seen trying so hard to stop the assistant coach but to no avail.
This is a clear violation of Ghana Football Association regulation on assault of referees.
Earlier today the Northern Regional Football Association Executive Council has banned the team from using the Air Force Base Park as thier home venue. The assault case has since been forwarded to the Disciplinary Committee for appropriate sanctions.
