Blame the club administrators for our defeat against Tamale City – Yendi Gbewaa FC Head Coach
Coach of Yendi based Division One club Gbewaa FC, Abdulai Danjuma states that, the club administrators are to blame for the defeat to Tamale City FC on Saturday at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
He said “I prepared the boys for the game and even came out with my starting eleven, but only to be alerted one hour to the start of the match that seven of the players were ineligible to play”
He said “I had to looked out for players who did not even trained for days to come and play the derby game against Tamale City, and only four of my initial first planned starting eleven were ligible to play the match”.
He was speaking after their 1-0 defeat to their northern rivals Tamale City FC. Coach Danjuma added that he could have won the game if all things were to be as planned and he was so disappointed with the administrators of the club for such unpardonable act.
The defeat to Tamale City was their ninth in the season, managing only two wins and two draws.
They have already conceded 20 goals in 13 games, the most goals conceded by a team in the zone so far.
They currently occupied 15th on the league standings and their next game is against Real Tamale United who also lost the Tamale Derby to Steadfast fc.
Gbewaa fc has so far failed to register a player in the second transfer window, which closed last week.
The coach was also asked on their chances against RTU and he said ” We will be well prepared for them and hope that we can record a win against them”.
Coach Shaibu Tanko’s side is on 4th place now with 24 points, trailing leaders Berekum Arsenals by 3 points.
Gbewaa FC is rumoured to have been sold out to Some Southern brothers, and with how things are going now, the team is most likely to go on Relegation.
