Black Stars: Baba Rahman silence critics with incredible performance against Sao Tome in AFCON qualifiers.
Chelsea loanee Baba Rahman was the centre of media accusations in Ghana’s 1-1 draw against South Africa last Thursday. The Tamale born Chelsea left back who is currently on loan at PAOK was poised for greatness until he sustained a knee injury back in 2017.
He sustained the knee injury in Ghana’s opening group game during the 2017 Afcon tournament against Uganda which Ghana won by 1-0.
Since his injury he has not been on top of his game, leading to his long absence in the team.
He was recently recalled to take part in the qualifiers.
Baba Rahman was on target in the Black Stars 3-1 victory over Sao Tome in Accra. His performance in the game was something that must be appreciated, as he was looking very sharp in attack and in defense also.
He has already established himself in PAOK starting lineup and even scored in his debut game for the Greek giants.
His performance in Black Star game has left many to rethink about their earlier criticism.
Baba has made 20 appearances for the senior national team and his goal against Sao Tome happens to be his first.
The Chelsea loanee will hope to keep improving on his performance as he hopes to be selected by C.K Akunnor during the World Cup qualifiers in June.
