Black Stars annihilated by the Eagles of Mali.

The senior national football team, the Black Stars engaged Mali in a friendly encounter in Turkey on Sunday as part of their preparations for AFCON qualifiers in November, 2020. The Match was CK Akonnor’s debut match as the head coach of the Black Stars. Unfortunately, he didn’t start on the good note as his side was beaten by 3 goals to nil in regulation time. Two goals were scored in the first half with the last goal coming late in the second half of the match.

CK Aknnor played the match with new faces such as Tariq Fosu, Emanuel Lomotey, Eric Edjiku, Kamaldeen Suleyman and also less capped players including Caleb Ekuban, Nicholas Opoku, Gideon Mensah, Kassim Nuhu Adams. However, some of the experience players such as Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Thomas Teye Partey had 90 minutes actions each.

Ghana will play the 2022 world cup host, Qatar on Monday, 12th October, 2020 before the next month’s double header against Sudan in the AFCON Qualifier on 19th November, 2020 (1st league) in Cape Coast before the return league in Sudan.
