Real Tamale United (RTU) secured a convincing 3-1 victory against Dreams FC, thanks to an outstanding performance by their striker, Eric Owusu Afriyie, at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday.
In a stellar display of skill and precision, Owusu opened the scoring in the 4th minute, setting the tone for RTU’s dominance. His early goal dampened the spirits of Dreams FC, leaving them with an uphill battle from the start.
Undeterred, Owusu Afriyie continued his goal-scoring spree, doubling RTU’s lead after the half-hour mark. With a comfortable advantage going into the second half, RTU maintained their momentum.
The striker completed his remarkable hat-trick just a few minutes into the second half, further solidifying RTU’s control of the game. Dreams FC found themselves trailing by three goals, facing a formidable opponent in RTU.
However, Dreams FC managed to pull one back, as Agyenim Boateng scored on the 52nd minute. Despite this effort, it proved insufficient to secure even a point for Dreams FC.
The victory provided much-needed relief for under-pressure coach Abdul Mumin of RTU. His team’s impressive performance against Dreams FC not only earned them three crucial points but also gave fans reason to smile and hope for a brighter future.
With this win, RTU now boasts 14 points, securing the 11th position on the league table. The triumph marks a significant step forward for the team and reflects their determination to climb higher in the league standings.
