Alhassan Uzair named in Ghana U-23 Provisional 23-man squad to face Japan
Tamale Utrecht Football Academy defender Alhassan Uzair has been included in the local Black Stars team to face Japan in a friendly encounter in June.
The talented hardworking center back was a key figure in the Black Satellites team that won Gold at the Afcon U-20 Championship in Mauritania, and also the WAFU Zone B tournament in Benin last December.
The 27-man squad will begin camping later this month to prepare for the friendly games against their Japanese counterparts in Tokyo on June 4 and June 8.
Japan will use the game as part of preparations for the Olympic Games Football competition.
Coach Fabin on the other hand sees the game as an opportunity to assess players for the team’s upcoming assignments
The Tamale Utrecht FC Defender was so instrumental at the back for the Satellites to ensure the team conceded just a single goal in 300 minutes of his action time in Mauritania.
The 18-year old was also an integral part of the Black Starlets (U-17) Squad that won silver at the WAFU Zone B in 2018 under Coach Karim Zito.
Success has been knocking at the young experience Center backs door lately, and it won’t be surprising to see him continue his development abroad.
