Aduana Stars Treated Us Badly in Dormaa – RTU Supporters Lament

The officials of Real Tamale United, RTU have accused their Betpawa Premier League counterparts, Aduana Stars for maltreatment and harassment before, during and after the Match Day 23 encounter against Aduana Stars in Dormaa on Sunday, 26th March, 2023.

After the game, RTU took to their official facebook page to state the treatments meted out to them in the course of the match.

Below is the quote from RTU’s official facebook page:

“Sorry we were not able to continue with our text commentary. Our media officer and other officials were sent off the stadium. Some of our players suffered some intimidation. Happy the lads fought so hard to earn us a point at this unfair grounds where football shouldn’t be played. Thank you all for your support always,”

Below are the summary of events that took place in Dormaa:

1. A scheduled Startimes live coverage was cancelled at the 11th hour.

2. RTU team officials beaten and driven out of the Nana Agyemang Badu I stadium at the first half of the game.

3. Mobile phones of RTU officials seized at the stadium.

4. Players of Northern Ladies FC who were at the stadium to lend support to their male compatriots, RTU had some of them beaten to a pulp.

5. An undeserving penalty awarded by Referee George M. Vormawor to the home side.

6. Iddrisu Gadafi was sent out of the game and RTU played most part of the second half with 10 men.

7. At 2-1, Referee George M. Vormawor added 10 minutes after regulation time and ended up playing 15 additional minutes to end the game 2-2.

8. Meanwhile, Assistant Line 2, Isaac Asante was hit with a life-threatening injury on his head from a missile launched from the stands. May Allah heal him.”

It is still not clear what the security personnel at the stadium could be doing at the times those incidents occurred.
